I work at Interscope Records as A&R. I also do all the domestic remix commissioning for the company. 2 years ago I decided I wanted to dig into computer based production and decided to really get into Logic. As work consumes so much of my time i had to look for an online solution for my learning. I started with another online school, but their curriculum didn't really match up with what I was wanting to do. I came across Point Blank in an audio newsletter and checked out their website. I immediately enrolled in the Electro House Logic course with ben (who I actually have had do some remixes for us) and haven't looked back since. I just really like the way the lessons flow with text and video. I feel like i'm learning from a producer (which I am) and not from a instructor/professor. I have the same conversations with guys like Steve Angello and Dirtysouth that we have in the classes. I will keep taking the classes as long as there are more i haven't tried yet. The biggest reason I take the classes is to be able to speak the exact language as the producers I speak to everyday..whether it be hip hop guys or dance guys. I want to give them specific feedback..like perhaps open up the filter and add a little resonance on the mid layer synth part you have instead of..."make it sound cooler" or some shit like that. I also like being able to help the guys I work with from a tech standpoint. The courses have made me twice as good at my job. I love them.

Hmmmm, where to begin with this one;) Well first of all the course was exceptional! I absolutely loved the material that was covered and enjoyed the videos showing multiple songs being developed from start to finish. I have taken; Trance, Songwriting and Mixing, which were all exceptional, but this one taught more than any others (because of the long, in depth videos). Now to the Tutor; Simon Langford is the best instructor I have ever had in any capacity! His combination of knowledge, thoroughness and true care for his students is remarkable. A few DVR's had to be split up into two because they were up to an hour long! Talk about going above and beyond! Most other dvd's in the other courses were 5-10 minutes, so to receive such in depth reviews was quite a treat! In addition, even with his incredibly busy schedule Simon went out of his way to do a thorough review (2 pages, with incredible detail) of a project I am working on outside of PB! Just this interaction/advice from Simon was worth the price of the course alone. You have found a real gem there in Simon! Find a way to get him involved as much as possible there at PB! Thanks again for a wonderful class! Yours truly, Satori

THe class was excellent. The materials and videos were helpful, but access to the tutor i the weekly chats was invaluable and the feedback in the DVRs was extremely helpful. Simon Langford was always willing to answer my questions, provide great feedback and help me achieve the sound I was going after.

Simon was outstanding. very patient and answered all our questions. He spent several sessions going over in our weekly chat and provided a tremendous amount of feedback on the DVRs! I actually ordered his book due to his phenomenal teaching. Thank you for having mentors/tutors like Simon on staff. Looking forward to more courses. Take care, Leo
